Critter: I was fairly relieved when Sea took off on her own. She was wearing some two-sizes-too-small T-shirt, practically forcing my eyes to home in on “the girls, ” and all I could think was I’m going to turn into a pillar of salt.

About This Quote

The story of the Critter is quite simple. Sea, a young mermaid, has grown up with her mother in the ocean. She takes her mother’s advice and begins to consider getting a human boyfriend. After years of consideration, she finally gets her chance when she meets up with Dory in the grocery store.

Dory is very concerned about the possibility of Sea ending up like her own family, with multiple husbands. Sea assures Dory that she won’t end up like that and that she will be with one man for life. Sea also assures her that she will not be wearing two-sizes-too-small shirts as long as she keeps her head above water.
